The Elizabeth Rooney Print Studio hosts an amazing array of facilities which include three printing presses,  one arm bandit for screenprinting, etching hot plate, 2-in-1 exposure and vacuum unit, screen printing coating facilities and two book presses. The Studio is named after prominent Sydney printmaker Elizabeth Rooney whose working old printing press is a feature. Rooney was an integral figure in the revival of printmaking in Sydney in the post-war period.

Printmaking holds a special place in this organisation, as it is one of the primary mediums of one of our founders, celebrated artist and one-time Lane Cove resident, Lloyd Rees. Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios aim to support the ongoing practice of printmaking by experienced artists as well as nurture the next generation of printmakers and young artists working in the print medium.

The Elizabeth Rooney Print Studio is host to term long printmaking classes and one off printmaking masterclasses and workshops and is in  used by our Artist in Residence and public hirers. Printing presses are often hard to come by and we have 3 on offer- the largest is 1.54m x 92cm, our most used press is 93cm x 60cm and our Elizabeth Rooney press is 1.12m x 52cm.. We encourage and welcome new hirers and students to the Studio.

HIRE RATES:

1 hour per Press: $20

4 hour per Press: $50

8 hours per Press: $80

$60 per day for 3-5 days (up to 6 hours a day)

Groups of 4 (use of multiple presses-up to 3)

1 hour: $50

Full day (10-4pm): $220

Each additional person after the 4th (up to 8 persons): $8 per person per hour.

Terms & Conditions:

​

• No refunds or transfers allowed.

• All Studio Hire rates DO NOT include inks, paper, rollers and tarlatan.

• We are a non-toxic printmaking studio. The use of chemicals such as Mineral Turpentine, Methylated Spirits, and Nitric Acid are not permitted. Contact our Studio Technician if you have any questions regarding permitted substances.

• The Studio Hire rate will include the use of all presses, cleaning products, press blankets, hot plate, light box and paper trays.

• New hirers will be required to undertake an induction before commencing their hire period.
