Join Our Team
Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios is looking for a practical, arts-passionate team member to join our small and dedicated team. We’re a for-purpose arts organisation in the heart of Lane Cove, committed to exhibition, education, and creative development for our community. From ceramics and printmaking to contemporary exhibitions and school holiday workshops, there’s always something happening here.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role that sits at the centre of our day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with our Director to help keep the studios running smoothly, support the delivery of exhibitions and events, and be a key point of contact for artists, teachers, students, and visitors.
The work is diverse and collaborative. On some days you may be assisting with kiln loading or studio preparation, while on others you may be helping install an exhibition or supporting a children’s holiday workshop. The role suits someone who enjoys a practical environment and is comfortable working across different aspects of a busy community arts centre.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Supporting day-to-day operations across our studio spaces - ceramics, printmaking and more
-
Assisting with the installation, setup, and takedown of exhibitions and artworks
-
Coordinating logistics for events, workshops, and exhibition openings
-
Communicating with artists, teachers, venue hirers, and suppliers
-
Maintaining studio materials, tools, and consumables
-
Providing administrative and documentation support
About You
You're someone who loves the arts and isn't afraid to get your hands dirty. You're organised, reliable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
You'll need:
-
Practical skills or training in one or more of: ceramics, printmaking, painting or textiles
-
Confidence using hand tools (drills, jigsaws) and AV equipment (data projectors, PA systems)
-
Strong communication skills - written and verbal
-
Great attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
-
A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
-
Flexibility to work one Saturday per fortnight and occasional after-hours events
Bonus points for:
-
Knowledge of WHS requirements in a studio environment
-
Experience with kiln loading/unloading or printmaking press maintenance
