Playful objective painting and drawing

This is a skills based focus course designed for students who want to develop their ability to paint and draw. These classes will cover how to create meaningful colour relationships and different ways of applying paint whether it be by brush, pallet knife or hand when exploring depth and mood in painting. Each lesson will be aimed at achieving a different subject/topic including, but not limited to, abstract landscapes, portraiture and still life. Drawing will appear in classes to offer students observational tools when working objectively.

Playful objective painting and drawing TEENS Fridays 4-6pm
James McCallum has continued his artist practice and has begun teaching art since finishing his Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours in 2011 at the National Art School. In 2011, 2014 and 2018 he has exhibited for the Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi exhibition and in his first year he was rewarded with the Clitheroe Mentorship Program. Over the past few years James has been teaching drawing, sculpture and painting classes to children and adults as an artist in residence at the Ascham school, Lane Cove Art Gallery and the Sculpture by the Sea Education Program.
