Creative Studios Tutors


David graduated from the National Art School, Sydney and is represented by Rex-Livingston Art Dealer Sydney. He has over 10 years teaching experience, exhibited in Europe, been a finalist for numerous art prizes, and awarded residencies at the Arthur Boyd studio at Bundanon and Murrays Cottage, Hill End.

David Teaches Intro to Art on Tuesday nights and Painting and Drawing on Wednesday mornings


Marie James is an award winning artist and is experienced in working with creative groups. Marie works in watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media to create her contemporary art works. She exhibits in metropolitan and country art venues

Kristen is a local artist and art teacher, having completed studies at the University of Sydney, National Art School and graduating from COFA with a Master of Art in painting and drawing. She is an award winning artist, including the Waverley Art Prize for Acrylics (2014) and the Northbridge Art Prize for works on paper (2012). Kristen has taught children's art classes at Northbridge School of Visual Arts, and (recently completed an Artist's Residency at Gallery Lane Cove).

Kara has playing with clay for over 25 years. She received her Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Ceramics at the Northern Beaches TAFE in 2015.

Kara continues to attend TAFE’S open studios where she produces her characters, teapots and functional ware for exhibitions and competitions throughout the year.


Originally a hand builder, Kara now combines throwing with her hand building to create detailed characters. She specialises in dogs, dragons, functional and non functional teapots and with a love of design creates functional thrown objects as a means of sgraffitto’ing or painting on them.

Kara exhibits her ceramics regularly, and has won many art prizes for her quirky teapots and non-functional ceramics.

Joanna has Bachelor (Hons) of Visual Arts majoring in Print from Sydney College of the Arts, Arts Administration and Cultural Development Certificate from St George School of Fine Arts and Certificate 2 in Screen Printing from Ultimo TAFE. She is a practicing artist working across photography, installation,projection and print to explore her interest in architectural and city space, permanency and perspective.

Joanna teaches children's art classes for 8-11 year olds on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons


Having had an extensive art education (with an honors degree) specialising in painting from SCA, UNSW and Meadowbank college, Abby continues her painting practice, and currently exhibits at Art2muse, Double Bay. Her work is now in the Westpac collection and she was recently selected for the Rick Amor drawing prize. With a strong interest in exploring abstraction and a love of drawing, Abby enjoys sharing her skills, enthusiasm and experience in the classroom
