Kids Machine Sewing - 7 week course

Thursdays 4.00 pm -6.30pm

Suitable for ages 8 and up

$275 for a 7 week term

Starts November 24th, no class on 31st October and recommence for the final 6 weeks on Thursday November 7th.

 

A kids sewing course to introduce them into this life skill whilst having a lot of creative fun along the way.

They can bring along their own machine or use one of ours.

As this is a beginners class, we will be taking it slow. We will be learning how to cut fabric from a pattern, how to set up a machine, seams, straight stitch, zig zag stitch and how to finish off.

All materials supplied which includes the lining , bag straps , metal clasps, pattern paper and use of machines, scissors etc. (please note bag fabric not supplied ) Fabric can be purchased at Spotlight or alternatively from the teacher for $20 ( limited choices)

Please note fabric will not need to be purchased for the first lesson , you will be advised the quantity required then.

 

Projects we will be working on are:

A large Tote Bag - with metal clasp , lined , pocket and flat base.

Eye Mask

  • Dress for mess!
    Whilst it's fun and exciting, making art can get messy so make sure you are wearing casual and comfortable clothes that are allowed to get a  little bit grubby. Fully enclosed shoes MUST be worn at all times in the workshop.

     

    Pack a snack!
    Please note that food is not provided for students, so if you think you will get hungry during the class, bring something to eat. A waterbottle is also a good idea!

     

    All art making materials will be provided!
