Starts 12 Feb

$260 per person 8 week term

Course description

In this course you will be encouraged to think about your practice in terms of ideas and concepts, as well as embrace the imperfections of process. Expanding your skills in composition, colour, form and mark-making, you’ll continue to develop your own personal aesthetic. Creative exercises will warm you up for self-directed projects and the concepts and techniques of specific artists will be used as examples. You will receive instruction and feedback from your tutor, and assistance with developing your projects. Students are encouraged to bring their visual arts diary with them each week.

Relevant videos and podcasts will be played and discussed during class, and resource sheets will be provided where appropriate.

Format of delivery

Each week a series of exercises to start the lesson. Students then proceed on their own project based on skills developed during the exercises.

Each week will comprise a combination of some or all of the following, according to student needs: discussion, practical exercises (where required), demonstrations, work on personal projects, tutor feedback, group critique, resources – podcasts, videos, printed handouts.
