This centenary survey contemplates the evolution of Guy Warren’s approach to painting. It is a celebration of the prolific artist's creative vitality and rigour over one of the longest painterly careers in Australia. Featuring recent works as well as pieces that reflect his connection with the local area, the exhibition honours his close relationship to Lane Cove and local arts organisation Centrehouse Inc.
Of Man and Nature captures Guy's spirit of stylistic experimentation which sets him apart from his peers. While it traces varieties of mark-making through the decades, the recurring theme of man’s place in the natural environment and related motifs persist.
This exhibition is proudly sponsored by Lane Cove Council with support from Lane Cove Rotary and Hazel McNamara, Senior Sales Agent, Raine and Horne Lane Cove.
Curated by Rachael Kiang.
