GRID LINE PATTERN:

a serial approach

NADIA ODLUM, WENDY KELLY, KATE MACKAY

Exhibition runs from 4 -29 March  2014

Opening night: 12 March from 6pm

Grid Line Pattern: A serial approach explores the work of three contemporary artists who impose a systematic or serial process to dictate the production and appearance of their artworks. The layering and repetition of line, colour and shape creates intricate grids and patterns that are surprising and diverse.

Nadia Odlum is a Sydney based artist who focuses on line and her layering of materials, creates a kinetic action that interrupts and disturbs our perceptions. read more

Wendy Kelly is a Melbourne based artist, who adopts an 'elaborate sequential mode of making' using cotton thread to create linear rhythms. She then layers pigments, paper, text and other materials to create rich and meditative textures. read more

Kate Mackay is also a Sydney based artist whose fascination for pattern in materials like wall paper and crocheted doilies, was the impetous for her process based practice. Kate's latest work applies a system of circles and squares which she applies by stamping colours in a sequential format onto the canvas. read more
