Sprout: The Conservation of Energy is the first Australian solo exhibition by Taiwanese artist Tseng Ying Tung who is well known in Taiwan and China for his textural Papier-mâché works. Tseng, whose mixed media art is on permanent exhibition in a private museum in Taiwan, will introduce Australian audiences to his interpretation of energy and the symbiosis of humanity and nature through a new body of work. Sprout features a total of 13 series and 53 mixed media paintings.
Tseng is the founder of the privately funded "Gan Le A-She" Asir Art Museum in Tainan. He has exhibited in Europe and America and has a significant public art practice in Taiwan.
The artist will attend the opening reception from 6pm on 30th January and participate in a panel discussion at 11 am on Saturday 2nd February.

Join facilitator Jo Williams in exploring mediums such as collage, watercolour, crayon and drawing in response to Gallery Lane Cove’s new exhibition Sprout: The Conservation of Energy. Taking inspiration from the natural themes the artist explores children are encouraged to create their very own nature-inspired mixed media work.
This exhibition is part of Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios' 2019 Lunar New Year program.
