Tara is an artist who can’t keep her hands still, so she enjoys painting and tinkering. Her true love (the method she feels she has actually mastered [more or less]), is oil painting and mixed media altered art. She enjoys oil paints’ ability to layer colour, creating rich shades and textures and illuminating a blank canvas with her wild imaginations. Likewise, Tara enjoys the process of gathering random items and finding a use for them in her art work.

Tara’s altered books are an expression of her random thoughts, often categorised, shelved and explored like one would a book. Tara’s mind is a library in disarray. From her curiosity about the natural world to her love of adventure; her thoughts are novels and journals that are sometimes difficult to read. These books reflect the mind’s vivid imagination and fantasy, from its many aspirations to its fears and anxieties.
