A Contemporary Art Exhibition at Gallery Lane Cove celebrating Lunar New Year

Short event description: An exhibition of new, site-specific work by three generations of Chinese Australian artists, reflecting on Chinese cultural heritage and identity from a female perspective. Features three prominent Chinese Australian artists Tianli Zu, Mimi Tong and Rainbow Chan commissioned by Gallery Lane Cove, with generous support from JQZ. 


Make Your Own Red Packet with Natalie Tso

7th February 3:30pm - 6:00pm

This fun-filled creative workshop will engage participants of all ages to make their own red packets, with templates designed by our artist-facilitator, Natalie Tso. 

Create your own take-home Lunar New Year handiwork or give them away with sweets and coins to friends.

Free drop-in, no booking required. Supported by Lane Cove Council

Daughters of the Dragon Panel Discussion with the Artists + Performance Art

8th February 11:00am - 12:00pm


Multidisciplinary artist Rainbow Chan will present a performance art piece related to her site-specific, installation art in Gallery Lane Cove's Lunar New Year  exhibition Daughters of the Dragon. 

This will be followed by a panel discussion about their artworks in the show and

how cultural identity informs their creative practice. 

Paper Cutting Workshop with Dr Tianli Zu

15th February 2:00pm - 4:00pm


Spend a lovely afternoon with artist Dr Tianli Zu learning the intricate art of Chinese papercutting. Each participant will take home a completed work at the end of the day.

Suitable for beginners, all ages and families.
