ARTIST RESIDENCY WITH GALLERY LANE COVE + CREATIVE STUDIOS

 

Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios will be seeking expressions of interest from emerging and established artists for our upcoming Residency Program.

The largest Studio, Studio 1 is available for residencies from August 2020! Apply now by sending an email to info@gallerylanecove.com.au with information on your practice, bio and CV and images of you work.

3 Residency spaces available:

Studio 1: $95 per week Located on the Ground level of Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios, this studio includes a filing cabinet, shelving, sink and air conditioning. The studio is 14.6sqm and located next to the kitchen, main entrance, painting & drawing studio and jewellery & textiles studio.

Studio 2: $85 per week Located on the Ground level of Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios, this studio includes a shelving, desk and air conditioning. The Residency room 13.7sqm, ideal for two dimensional artists and located next to the kitchen, main entrance, painting & drawing studio and jewellery & textiles studio.

Studio 3: $75 per week Located in the Lower Ground level of Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios, this studio is within the print studio and next door to the Ceramics studio so ideal for all Printmakers and Ceramicists. The studio is 12.4sqm and has plenty of natural light and very easy access to Studios outside grassed area.

 

Residency includes:

  • Residencies accepted for 3, 6, 9 and 12 months with preferences for 6 months and above.

  • Residencies for 6 months and longer are eligible for a 4 week solo exhibition at Gallery Lane Cove upon completion of Residency period.

  • Residencies less than 6 months are eligible for a group show with other artists residing for less than 6 months

  • Secure space with good natural light.

  • 24 hour access to studio in close proximity to public transport and shops

  • Print, ceramic, textiles and jewellery studio access outside class and workshop hours

  • Includes studio rent (personal studio space, print studio access, kitchen access, electricity, water) and exhibition administrative and gallery costs  (250 exhibition invitations, marketing and promotion)

"Travis De Vries, Darc Ridgul, 2017

TRAVIS DE VRIES

A creator of dark fiction and graphic artwork, Travis is a multidisciplinary performer, writer and painter with a rich background in visual arts and Indigenous culture. Spending a majority of time in his own head, Travis creates world within worlds, brings to life characters on the page and canvas from his ever growing, fantasy, parallel universe.

Travis has most recently travelled to the UK to present his visual arts and performance works as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival to great success. He has also been a finalist in the Muswellbrook Art Prize (2017) and is also held as part of the collection there. He also has been a part of multiple touring exhibitions as a finalist of the NSW Parliament Aboriginal Art Prize (2015) (2013) He is an alumni of the British Council’s Accelerate program for cultural leadership and is recently returned from Scotland where he performed his live performance work and had an exhibition as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival
